POIPU — Two new stores are opening at The Shops at Kukuiula: Cruise Kauai and Reyn Spooner.
Cruise Kauai will celebrate a grand opening Wednesday.
Cruise Kauai offers the latest in high fashion of swimwear, resort wear and fashions for island lifestyle. The store carries a selection from local designers from Hawaii to international top designer labels. Cruise also offers accessories, handbags, hats, shoes and jewelry.
“We are so very excited about opening our first Cruise Store on Kauai at The Shops at Kukuiula,” said General Manager Mike Hearne. “Cruise Kauai will truly be Kauai’s fashion port of call, a destination both visitors and locals won’t want to miss.”
Reyn Spooner, a Oahu-based company known for its iconic reverse-print designs, will have a grand opening at 6 p.m. on Saturday, featuring local music, Hawaiian fusion pupus and signature cocktails.
The locally based retailer has operated in Hawaii for more than 50 years, with a brand and style that has a strong local and international following. Reyn Spooner has been a leader in the aloha fashion scene since its inception in the 1950s when its founder, Reyn McCullough, created a winning combination by matching East Coast prep tailored construction with Hawaii’s surf and aloha heritage.
“We have always been interested in expanding our brand on the Garden Island and reaching out to the Kukuiula community, given the right opportunity. We felt the timing was right to become part of this premiere shopping destination, and are truly excited to be able to offer residents and visitors a full line of our company’s island-inspired apparel and accessories,” said Kirk Hubbard III, president of Reyn Spooner.
The newly finished Reyn Spooner store will offer a full line of the company’s aloha apparel and accessories. The newest Reyn Spooner addition gives the company eight locations throughout the islands.
The grand opening event will feature entertainment by Kruse Control, while Living Foods and Eating House 1949 prepare island fusion pupus and Hawaii’s mixologist Joey Gottesman creates signature, island-inspired cocktails.
