KAPAA — Yogis at the Bikram Hot Yoga House in Kapaa were taking care of more than their own bodies on Sunday. Proceeds from their Feed the World Yoga Tour went toward ending hunger among children worldwide.
Nearly 40 people joined the studio’s 9 a.m. Bikram class, which kicked off the day. Yin Yoga followed. Folks also enjoyed Tibetan sound healing, a beginner salsa class and massage. There was food served throughout the day, along with kombucha and live music for entertainment.
“Everything there was all about healing and we were all there to heal ourselves, and heal the world,” said Bridget Finn off Kapaa. “It’s pretty awesome to see how many people came out to help support (feeding the world’s children).”
Participants were also able to bid on items in a silent auction, including yoga and restaurant packages.
“Everyone in the community has been so generous to make this come together,” said Samantha Lockwood, owner of the studio. “Everything, from the food to the things for the silent auction, we all made it happen together.”
