Kudos to Lynlie Waiamau, Ambyr Mokiao-Lee (how’s that for a fancy name?), and all those Department of Land and Natural Resources Division of Forestry and Wildlife people on a great Arbor Day sale! Coach Kawika Smith was busy in the back, but made time to come out for coffee break … and yes, we know June Jones is applying for the University of Hawaii football coach position, but I don’t know about the Cotton Bowl.
JoAnne Georgi was looking for fruit trees, and finding none, offered up seeds for a white Mountain Apple tree so Augusto Ruaboro (he even remembers when we used to visit the reindeer at Christmas time) can see if they germinate.
Lee Ridley (he offers plant tours every Wednesday morning at the Marriott’s Waiohai Beach Club) was one of the early buyers and scored a rare palm (did it really originate from Lehua Island?).
Kudos to the Hawaii Fashion Month team on a great launch Wednesday! Ada and Ari Koene had more guests as they entertained David and Vonda Gittins from Clarkston, Washington, at the Tortilla Republic, andSandy Poenhelt of The Right Slice looked like a perfect fit for the HFM backdrop while doing the chef’s demo.
