Congratulations to Kauai High School Coach Dorene Matias and the varsity girls volleyball team on spearheading a food drive collection Friday night to benefit the Kauai Independent Food Bank (Leona Perez got to watch a really good game!) and its Holiday Food and Fund Drive!
Earlier in the week, Sarah Iha chaperoned the Kauai JV girls team who had a reading exercise with students from the Boys & Girls Club (mahalo to Sierra Hampton-Eng for the assistance in coordinating the event).
People have been busy during this fall break, because Rev. Ryan Newman of the All Saints’ Episcopal Church and Preschool said parents from the preschool were busy painting and installing artwork at the Kapaa school in time for classes to re-open this week (is today a holiday?).
Ethan Freitas was busy working on his flag while helping mom at the Haole Girl Island Sweets tent at the Kauai Community Market, and Chris Kauwe said High Ho will have some Halloween-themed bees (no x-eyes?) for next week.
Melissa McFerrin-Warrack said Alan Van Zee is the musical director for the upcoming Hawaii Children’s Theater “Mary Poppins” production (when is the kite day where you can get discounted tickets?) in between mixing up his fresh island juices.
