LIHUE — In preparation for the next application cycle for the Community Development Block Grant funding, the Kauai County Housing Agency will be conducting workshops for those new to the program.
The “New to CDBG” workshops will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday and from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Lihue Civic Center, Piikoi Building conference room.
Types of projects and activities that are eligible for CDBG funding as well as the basic requirements will be covered and attendees will learn how to design projects involving infrastructure and assets that principally benefit low- to moderate-income individuals, families or communities.
Space is limited and reservations are required to attend. Call 241-4444 to reserve a seat.
The Housing Agency will also conduct its annual public hearings for CDBG and HOME grant programs to announce the availability of funds at the following locations and times:
• Lihue Civic Center, Piikoi Building conference room – Nov. 9, 4:30 p.m.
• Kapaa Neighborhood Center – Nov. 10, 4:30 p.m.
• Waimea Neighborhood Center — Nov. 16, 4 p.m.
