Shirley M. Elite
Mrs. Shirley M. Elite, 83, of Hilo, Hawaii, passed away on Sept. 4, 2015, at Hilo Medicate Center. She was born in Hanamaulu, Kauai, on July 4, 1932. Shirley was a retired licensed practical nurse at the former Puumaile Hospital and Hilo Hospital and Physical Therapy aid at Hilo Hospital.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Wendell Leite, Sr. of Hilo; son, Wendell (Susan) Leite Jr. of Naperville, Illinois; daughter, Harvelee (Casimir) Leite-Ah Yo of Hilo; brother, Lester “Sonny” Matsushima of Hanamaulu, Kauai; sisters, Lani Sasaki of Hanamaulu, Kauai, and Penny (Ellsworth Antonio of Hanamaulu, Kauai; as well as five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services were held. The family requests no flowers and no koden.
Lydia Arruda Rodriques
Lydia Arruda Rodriques born on Nov. 22, 1924, in Kealia, Kauai, passed away at Hale Kupuna on Sept. 17, 2015, at the age of 90.
She is preceded in death by her son, James Anthony Rodriques; parents, Manuel and Mary Arruda and numerous brothers and sisters.
Lydia is survived by her daughters, Catherine Perreira and Mary Sarsi; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; numerous, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015, with services to begin at 10 a.m. Burial to take place at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
