LIHUE — Mytra McKeague, longtime Futsal Kauai coach, said the program has five teams in the Kauai Soccer Association fall season, but still could use another week to get the players ready.
But following the long day of soccer ranging from Under 8 to Under 16 age divisions, Futsal Kauai came out all right, dropping just one game and tying one out of several games played.
Anthony Durocher, playing up from the Under 12 division, fired off two goals to assist Dreyden Iwamoto’s hat trick, or three goals scored. Christopher Harvey and Preston Rezentes each netted one in an effort that came up a point short for Futsal Kauai as the NSFC BU14 edged out the brown shirts, 8-7 in one of three Under 14 games contested at the North Vidinha fields Sunday.
Victor Hepburn led the NSFC win on four goals followed by Kellen O’Rourke getting a hat trick and Nahoa Davis capping the win.
Connor Mackenzie netted a hat trick to lead Team Onipaa BU13 to a 6-4 edge over Keahi BU14 during the second matchup. Vitto Altomare finished with two goals and Wyatt Hartsell’s score accounted for the win. Stanford Aban, Mia Takekuma, Haweo Akeo, and Brayden Lumabao had the scoring honors for Keahi.
The final U14 game resulted in a 4-4 tie between the Lihue Cougars GU14 and the Futsal Kauai GU14 squads, Talia Washington leading the Futsal scoring on two nets and Emily Binder and Taelyn Nunes helping the effort. Jenessa Freitas led the Cougars’ effort on two goals with nets from Hiilani Bukoski, also playing up from the U12 division, and Jessica Hrejlac rounding out the effort.
Under 8
Futsal Kauai GU89 marked the first win with a 1-0 forfeit over Na Hoku GU8 to start the day.
Kawika Kupihea, Kimo Kupihea, Colton Newmanm and Isaiah Noguchi found the net for the Futsal Kauai BU8 in its 4-0 win over the Lihue Cougars BU8.
Under 10
Mia Kaneakua-Inoshita netted a hat trick and Makena Kupihea scored a goal to lead the Futsal Kauai GU10 to a 4-0 shutout over Team Onipaa GU10.
Mia Laver fired off two goals and Alyssa Lyons found the net to lead the NSFC Gu10 to a 3-0 win over the Kalaheo Fire GU10.
Jacob Grossmann fired off four goals and Kainoa Blaze ended with two scoresa, Kaikea Potts, Kamakana Potts, and Gabriel Schmidt each finding the net once to lead Keahi BUI10 to a 9-0 win over Team Onipaa BU10.
Ignacio Elzaurdia, Micah Lindman and Curren Pop each fired off two goals to lead the Hanalei FC BU10 to a 6-4 showing over the Lihue Arsenal BU10 who got a hat trick from Tristan McDaniel and a score from Austin Dabin-Duterte.
The Lihue Galaxy BU10, getting a net from Kaidyn Yago, battled to a 1-1 deadlock with Futsal Kauai BU10. Kamalei Dasalia-Mundon did the honors for Futsal Kauai.
Under 12
Tea Rosa netted twice with Kaia Davis-Caberto, Kai-Lee Kupihea and Tory Refamonte finding scores to lead the Futsal Kauai GU12 to a 5-1 showing over the Eastside Pride GU12. Trachelle Iwamoto got the goal that kept the Pride from being white-washed.
Hiilani Bukoski netted a hat trick, Kaleomahe Bukoski scored twice and a goal from Kaya Camara pushed the Lihue Cougars GU12 to a 6-0 showing over the Kalaheo Fire GU12.
Jessica Cezar scored twice and goals from Dylan Calderon, Angeline Nizo and Jasmine Semblante moved Team Onipaa GU12 to a 5-1 showing over the Makani GIU12, the greenshirts getting a goal from Briannalynn Ehia.
On the boys’ field, Tyrus Duran and Elise Yukimiura moved the Lihue Arsenal BU12 to a 2-1 edge over the Lihue Arsenal Red BU12, Aron Taguiam gracing the net for the Red.
Mason Hunt, Kalani Leibow, and Richard Silliman each scored twice. Bodhi Moomaw netted a hat trick, and goals from Mamukai Berrett, Anthony Durocher, and Caleb Estes moved Futsal Kauai BU12 to a 12-0 showing over Keahi BU12.
Zachary Hermanns netted two goals and scores from Nahoa Davis and Kalei Kanehe provided the firepower in the NSFC BU12’s 4-0 win over Team Onipaa BU12.
Under 16
Kyson Ikehar, Kyle Leibow and Brett Reese had scores to lead Keahi BU16 to a 3-2 edge over Team Onipaa BU16 who got nets from Benjamin Griep and Conor Hunt.
Seidree Kealoha-Albarado had the hot foot of the day, netting six goals to lead the Rush GU17 to a 9-3 win over Team Onipaa GU17.Keiley Albarado-Planas, Cienna Caires and Lyndsie Kashima helped the win with goals.
Kyla Bandsma, Kaila Matsunaga and Alexandra Temme did the honors for Team Onipaa GU17.
The KSA fall season games continue Sunday at the North Vidinha fields starting at 10 a.m.
