LIHUE — The public is invited to attend the Ninth annual Health and Wellness Fair sponsored by Life’s Choices Kauai, which is part of the Office of the Mayor.
The event will be held 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall.
Information about a plethora of services and programs for people of all ages will be available at the fair including: fitness and exercise programs; traditional Hawaiian healing practices; domestic violence and suicide prevention; respite services; life skills; senior, youth, women’s and veterans services; fraud prevention; tobacco cessation; alcohol and drug awareness programs; cancer prevention; faith-based programs and employment services.
In addition, there will be free blood pressure screenings, cold laser spinal screenings, mini-massages, health screenings, hands-on CPR demonstrations and Reiki demonstrations. Flu shots will also be administered free to those with health insurance.
A total of 50 organizations will have information tables.
“I believe it’s important for the county to offer its employees and their families as well as the general public current information on health and wellness programs,” said Life’s Choices Kauai Coordinator Theresa Koki. “Our goal is to help people lead more productive and fulfilling lives, both personally and professionally.”
