LIHUE — Kauai betta breeder Liz Hahn captured a Best of Variety and a Reserve Best of Variety honors at the California Betta Society show judging Saturday in California.
Hahn’s Doubletail Female took top honors in the category judging and went on to earn Best of Variety honors at the show which is an International Betta Congress, International Area 1 event. It attracted more than 220 fish in the regular class judging.
The doubletail captured Reserve Best of Variety honors as well.
Overall, Hahn finished with two first-place honors, both being earned by Doubletail fish, a solid and a patterned variety.
She captured three second-place honors for her Light Solid Female Singletail, a Marble/Grizzle Singletail Female, and a Solid Doubletail Female.
Hahn rounded out her winnings at the international show with a third-place finish for her female Light Solid Singletail.
Currently ranked No. 2 breeder by the IBC, Hahn rose from the No. 4 position in 2014.
