LIHUE – The public is advised that the Lihue Civic Center bus stop will be permanently relocated around the corner to Eiwa Street effective Wednesday.
The move is part of the conversion of Eiwa Street into a transit mall where improvements are being made to make it safer and more convenient for transit riders, pedestrians and bicyclists, while still allowing one-way travel for motor vehicles.
New bus shelters are on order for the transit mall and are expected to arrive in a couple of months. In the meantime, a tent and chairs will be set up as a temporary measure.
