LIHUE — Time is running out for people to contribute to the collection headed by the county’s Agency on Elderly Affairs, RSVP program, said RSVP director Celia Melchor-Questin.
“Tuesday at 4 p.m. is the deadline for people to turn in items which will be turned into gift boxes benefiting the YWCA of Kauai women’s shelter,” Melchor- Questin said. “We’ll also have volunteers at both the Kmart and Times Supermarket stores, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. collecting items.”
The drive coincides with the Sept. 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance.
Drop-offs can be done at the Agency on Elderly Affairs, RSVP offices in the Lihue Civic Center, Piikoi Building from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday and Tuesday, or by visiting the Kmart and Times Supermarket stores on Saturday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
