LIHUE — The Kauai Island Singers Showcase will present “Night & Day” at 5 p.m. Sunday at All Saints Church in Kapaa.
The free concert will include favorite songs “about all times of day and night.”
Performers will include 10 singers, Erik Hagen, Mike Kobayashi, Mary Kopitzke, Dioana Leone, Christine Melamed, Melissa Mojo, Fran Nestel, Barbara Pendragon, Trishana Star and Stanley Wolshin, joined by Hank Curtis on piano, Laine Griffith on sax, flute and clarinet and Cary Valentine on percussion.
“The reason we’re doing this is we love to sing,” Mojo said.
The show will include mostly solo performances and two duets. It will be a mix of music, from rock to jazz to blues to show tunes. It will also include some original compositions.
The Kauai Island Singers Showcase has put on nearly 20 free concerts since December 2012.
“This is for singers who want to get more performance experience and really develop their repertoire,” Mojo said.
Around 100 people usually attend.
“You never know what you’re going to get,” Mojo said.
She referred to the concerts as “personal development journeys for everybody.”
“We keep raising the bar on ourselves,” she said.
