About 140 boys and girls took part in the third annual Kauai Marathon Keiki Run presented by Wilcox Health on Saturday on the far west side of the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa.
There was a 100-yard toddler trot for 2-4 year olds, a quarter-mile run for 5-7 year olds and a half-mile run for 8-12 year olds.
Kids received medals at the finish line, plenty of cheers and lots of high fives from family and friends who came to watch the popular event that took place under blue, sunny skies.
The Keiki Run Chicken that paced the kids in each race was played by three-time Kauai Marathon winner and two-time half-marathon winner, Tyler McCandless.
