POIPU — The presentation of more than $2,900 to the Kauai Humane Society was sufficient reason for Chip Bahouth, general manager of the Sheraton Kauai Resort, and some of the associates to have their canines at work Friday.
Penny Cistaro, KHS executive director, joined the gathering of associates and their furry companions in accepting the contribution which represented the July proceeds from Table 53 in the oceanfront RumFire Poipu Beach restaurant.
Table 53 charity fundraising offers private booth seating overlooking the Sheraton Kauai Resorts’ Ocean Courtyard.
Sheraton Kauai will donate its net proceeds for all food and beverage at Table 53 to a nonprofit selected for the month. For the month of September, Table 53 proceeds will benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Hawaii.
The Kauai Humane Society was founded in 1952 to protect Kauai’s animals and to promote the human-animal bond. It depends on contributions of donors to continue to fund programs and services that are vital to the community and the island’s animals, including pet adoptions, low cost spay/neuter and vaccination clinics, Critter Camp for keiki, the Save Our Shearwaters program, and the pet field trip program.
