Teresa Caires works for the county’s Office of Elderly Affairs and that led to her Girl Scouts — Jayda Wakilina, Kaytlen Akau, Alexis Cacabelos, Kyla Koerte and Aleah Yano (she looks a lot like her Miss Kauai Filipina sister) — helping out at the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
Kudos to Ashley Studerus, Umberto Blanco and all those hard-working volunteers (Teresa said the Girl Scouts were bummed they couldn’t wave to motorists this year) on another great event!
Celia Melchor-Questin was so busy with the walk she didn’t have time to do her National Day of Service collection benefiting the YWCA of Kauai’s women shelter, and Stacie Chiba-Miguel was so fast she got her anti-bullying campaign (Sept. 12) poster up in time for everyone to see. Kudos to Ron Wood (haven’t seen him around since the FM97 days) on a great job of moving everything along, and of course, Sharon Lasker had to have the Regency at Puakea cookies on hand, competing with the Kauai Coffee malasadas and coffee for attention.
Darla Domingo said Kauai Coffee will also be at The Kauai Marathon when it unfolds Sunday (real early in the a.m.).
