Effects of Kilo may have cancelled the final beach outing for Mahelona Hospital, but it did not deter Jill Tokuda, chair of the Senate Ways and Means Committee, from doing its tour with Senate president Ron Kouchi and other state legislators Tuesday.
Monday, the group was scheduled for a visit at Kauai Community College, which opened its doors to its fall semester where Steven Nakata (he’s doing a sushi demonstration for the Kauai Museum Japanese Cultural event Saturday!) was enjoying a Kauai Cigar and getting Leighton Villa, the new institute researcher, and Shaunte Sadora, a former Kapaa High School counselor, a little envious.
Kouchi and his party even timed their transportation meeting so they could greet Vacation for a Warrior Sgt. Roy and Megan Easley at the airport (Chris Takenaka said getting the American flag there aboard a different Harley-Davidson was a chore). Kudos to Lynn Alyward-Bingman for coordinating the trip.
OK, it’s time for football and checking Chef Rafael Camarillo’s latest grinds.
