LIHUE — Sponsors KIUC, Ka’iwa Construction and the Kauai Police Department announced the “Cop on Top” fundraising event will begin at 6 a.m. Thursday at the Lihue Walmart.
The event will continue through Saturday and funds raised will benefit Special Olympics Kauai.
Officers will be on the ground and the roof of the store in search of potential donors. Officers will not rest until they raise $25,000 needed for Special Olympics Kauai athletes.
“We welcome and look forward to one and all assisting our cause by contributing donations during our event. Special Olympics T-shirts and other incentives will be available,” said Jocelyn Barriga, area director of Special Olympics Kauai.
