Gates to the largest annual event on the island opened Thursday night at Vidinha Stadium, pulling in thousands of people through the four days of family fun, education and competition presented by Aloha Kia Kauai and Kauai Harley Davidson.
Under the canopy of “E hele mai a e pili pu kakou, or “come and join us,” the Kauai County Farm Bureau Fair offered people the opportunity to support and showcase both agriculture and the community through the wide variety of activities and competitions. Nonprofits had the perfect window to showcase its cause to the steady stream of traffic through the nonprofit and commercial tent.
The Salvation Army was granted $2,000 and Ron Miller of the Hukilau Lanai became the first person to three-peat at the sold-out sixth annual Celebrity Chef Cookoff for Charity hosted by Kauai Coffee and the Kauai Grown program.
The Kauai County Farm Bureau Fair returns Aug. 25-28, 2016.
