POIPU — The Kauai Marathon and Half Marathon will hold the first Kickoff Celebration Concert on Saturday from 4:30 to 11 p.m. at the Poipu Beach Athletic Club.
All ages are invited to enjoy live local entertainment, culinary treats and drinks from island restaurants and food trucks. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Kauai Marathon and Half Marathon. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at Hapas Restaurant or on eventbrite.com.
Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring beach chairs and blankets for watching the concert from the lawn.
The entertainment opens with Halau Kalei Mokihana O Leinaala at 5:30 p.m. followed by The Blonde Boys at 6 p.m. Halau Kalei Mokihana O Leinaala returns at 6:50 p.m. to get the crowd ready for Oahu’s Kalapana at 7:15 p.m. Then local favorites Greenstone Project will rock the house at 8:30 p.m. At the conclusion of the concert, Hapas Restaurant and Bar will remain open until 11 p.m. with house music and cocktails.
Appetizing fare will be available for purchase including summer entrées from Poipu Beach Athletic Club’s own Hapas and Poipu’s Living Foods, as well as favorites from Kauai’s food trucks. There will also be several beer and wine stations and cocktails available in the bar.
Complimentary parking is available at Poipu Beach Athletic Club.
The 7th annual Kauai Marathon is scheduled for Sept. 6 in Poipu.
