Nia Klutke (who else thinks she’s an Amber McClure look-alike?) is getting ready for her first Kauai County Farm Bureau Fair, where she will be helping staff the Kauai Grown booth with her grandma, Sandi Kato-Klutke (are we doing the Waipa Mango Festival, Sunday?).
Happy birthday to Jessica Marchant who is celebrating her ninth birthday with a stay at the Kauai Beach Resort so she can play in the pool!
Kudos to Benie Battulayan who has the Kauai FilAm Basketball program in full swing on Saturday and Sunday at the Isenberg Park. Lance Logan was there Tuesday to referee a make-up game from the weekend’s rain, and Michelle Lemy was there to run the clock and keep score. Games start at 5 p.m. and there is a lot of color, action and fun.
This is it! Time to check out Waimea football coach Jason Caldeira and his Menehune who take on the Kaimuki Bulldogs in a pre-season game at Hanapepe Stadium starting at 7 p.m. Early arrivals can always take in the ono Waimea food booth.
And Wayne Fujioka is hoping for no rain for the Lihue Hongwanji Mission bon dance which runs tonight and Saturday night with the plate lunches being sold from 5 p.m. until sold out.
