Patrick Hallmark
Patrick Jay Hallmark of Princeville, passed away in Garden Isle Health Care on July 11, 2015, at the age of 72. He was born in Los Angeles, California, on July 14, 1942. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and was the proprietor of Hallmark Interiors in Barstow, California.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Reuben “Jack” and Dorothy Hallmark.
Patrick is survived by his wife, Lona Hallmark of Princeville; brother, Richard Hallmark of Barstow, California; two sons, Jason and Bruce; daughter, Sherry, all from Grand Junction, Colorado and nine grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015, from 2 p.m. at Church of the Pacific in Princeville.
Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Hallmark family with arrangements.
Hilda Cannon
A very special person, we bid a fond farewell. Hilda Domdoma Cannon, 89, died peacefully on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at Hale Kapuna Heritage Home in Omao. Hilda Cannon was born in Makaweli, Kauai, and attended Waimea High School.
She was preceeded in death by her husband, L.T. “Pat” Cannon; father, Fortunato Domdoma; step-father, Sesinando Rafael; mother, Isabella Domdoma Rafael; brother, Alex Domdoma and sister, Margaret Salvador.
Hilda Cannon is survived by son, Milton (Deborah) Valera of California; daughters, Angela (Bruce) Morehead of Kauai, Linda (Robert Jr.) Burnz of Idaho; grandchildren, Mark (Christi) Valera of California, Michael (Robin) Valera of California, Matthew (Jen) Valera of California, Melanie Valera of California, Bailey Nakaahiki of Washington, Craig Nakaahiki of Oahu, Chad (Nicole) Morehead of Georgia, Robert-John (Melissa) Burnz of Idaho, Mary-Elizabeth (Richard) Natividad of Oahu; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; brothers, George Domdoma of Oahu, Clarence “Pake” (Betty) Domdoma of Kauai; sisters, Lucy McPalmer of Nevada, Agnes Domdoma of Oahu, Cecelia (Joseph) Cullen of Oahu and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Hilda Cannon and her husband owned and operated hotel gift shops, Top to Toe, Ltd. After the death of her husband, she worked as Director of Catholic Charities on Kauai. After Hurricane Iniki, Hilda Cannon was instrumental in providing hundreds of storage units, building materials, food, and so much more to the people of Kauai through donations. Her accomplishments are too numerous to list.
Hilda was a special friend to many.
A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, Aug. 10, 2015, at the St. Raphael Church in Koloa with visitation from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m.
Kauai Memorial Gardens and St. Raphael Church assisted the family with arrangements.
Peter Ishibashi
Peter Ishibashi of Kalaheo passed away at the Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 25, 2015, at the age of 54. Born on Nov. 19, 1960, in Waimea, Hawaii, he was a heavy equipment operator with the County of Kauai.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa; son, Brandon Ishibashi of Kalaheo; daughters, Nikki and Tiffany Ishibashi of Kalaheo; one grandchild, Kydon Ishibashi; mother, Shirley Tanaka of Lihue; step-mother, Sueko Ishibashi of Koloa; mother-in-law, Janet Kimura; father-in-law, Gerald Kimura of Honolulu; brother, John (Del) Ishibashi of Kalaheo; step-brothers, Derek Tanaka of Lihue, Guy Hiraoka of Honolulu; step-sister, Roberta (Eric) Tanaka of Honolulu and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Peter is preceded in death by his father, George Ishibashi.
Friends may visit with the family at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. with Services to follow at 6 p.m.
Family is requesting casual attire.

Matthew S. Iwatate
Matthew S. Iwatate of Waimea born on June 30, 1963, passed away on July 24, 2015, at the age 52.
He is survived by his sons, Brandon Lampitoc of Minneapolis, Logan Iwatate of Honolulu, Chandler Iwatate of Gulf Port, Liam Iwatate of Kekaha; mother, Elsie (Harvey) Dusenberry Garcia, father, Kazuo Iwatate; brothers, Richard Iwatate of Waimea, Nikola (Claudia) Nishi of Waimea, Pete (Cheri) Nishi of Honolulu; sisters, Donna (Mark) Richards of Lawai, Ama (Mouad) Nishi of Las Vegas, Marcella (Eric) Malchow of Las Vegas; uncles, Carl (Maureen) Dusenberry Jr., of Waimea, Franklin (Linda) Dusenberry Sr., of Waimea and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, Aug. 9, 2015, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. with Services to follow at 11 a.m. A private inurnment will take place at a later date.

Brigida B. Lazaro
Brigida B. Lazaro of Eleele, Kauai, Hawaii, passed away on July 16, 2015, at the age of 83. She was born on Oct. 6, 1931, in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. She was a housewife.
Brigida was preceded in death by her parents, Saturiano and Gregoria Bartolome; husband, Pedro Lazaro; sisters, Maria Galiza and Martina Bartolome; brothers, Simon, Maning, Marshall, David and Christian Bartolome
She is survived by her daughters, Alicea (John) Borja and Loida Lazaro; son, Edieson Lazaro; five grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends and may visit with the Lazaro family on Friday Aug. 21, 2015, at Hanapepe Church of The Nazarene.
Visitation is scheduled for 9 a.m., Service at 10 a.m. and burial to follow at Hanapepe Public Cemetery.
The family suggests casual attire.

Marjorie E. Clerc
Marjorie E. Clerc of Princeville passed away on July 27, 2015, at the age of 92. She was born in Nutley, New Jersey on March 30, 1923, and was a dedicated homemaker.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald R. Clerc.
She is survived by sons, Jerry L. (Kathy) Clerc of California, Ron Clerc of Kauai, Craig S. (Michele) Clerc of Florida; daughter, Shari L. (Rick) Talley of Kauai; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins.
Family will hold private services.

Kiyoko T. Hashimoto
Kiyoko T. Hashimoto of Waimea, Kauai, passed away at Kauai Veteran’s Memorial Hospital on July 23, 2015, at the age of 88. Born on June 10, 1927, in Waimea, Kauai, she was a retired sales clerk with Kekaha Store and J. Okada Store.
Kiyoko is preceded in death by her husband, Junichi Hashimoto and brothers, George Tanigawa and Steve Tanigawa.
She is survived by her son, Miles (Claire) Hashimoto of Eleele, Hawaii; daughter, Avis (Malcolm) Onaga of Waipahu, Hawaii; grandchildren, Alex and Michael Hashimoto and Jenna and Matthew Onaga and brother Kenichi (Shirley) Tanigawa of Cypress, California.
Services are private. The family respectfully requests no flowers or koden.

Pauline Sousa Williams
Pauline Marie Sousa Williams of Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away on July 25, 2015. Pauline was born and raised in Kealia, Kauai and spent her life as a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Laura and Alfred Souza; husband, Francis Williams, Sr.; brother Alfred Sousa, Evelyn Peahu and brother-in-law.
Pauline is survived by her sons, Francis Jr. (Kathy) Williams of Hawaii, Robert (Mary) Williams of Honolulu, Hawaii, Hanalei Williams of Honolulu, Hawaii; their daughter, Laura Brown and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to visit with the family for a celebration of Pauline’s life on Monday, Aug. 10, 2015, at St. Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church on Kaheka Street in Honolulu at 9 a.m.

Consolacion Aguinaldo Romero
Consolacion Aguinaldo Romero of Kekaha passed away in Liliha, Oahu on July 21, 2015, at the age of 94. Born on Aug. 15, 1920, in Bangui Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she was a retired seamstress for the late Guadalupe Bulatao and an amazing grandma and great-grandma.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Marcelo Romero and parents, Inocencia Acio Aguinaldo and Arthur Sagucio Aguinaldo.
Consolacion is survied by her son, Rogelio Marzan (Primie) of Honolulu; three grandchildren, Lilian (Francis Jr.) DeCosta of Honolulu, Hazel Wachi of Kalaheo and Clyde Marzan of Honolulu; six great-grandchildren, Kristen DeCosta of Honolulu, Ashley DeCosta of Honolulu, Kiara DeCosta of Honolulu, Matthew DeCosta of Honolulu, Jianna Wachi of Kalaheo and Kallen Wachi of Kalaheo; brothers, Thomas Aguinaldo of Somerset, New Jersey, Arthur Aguinaldo Jr. of Spring Valley, California and Abelardo Garvida of Hanamaulu; sisters, Flora Sagucio of Kekaha and Leticia Serrano of Washington and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A rosary will take place at 7 p.m. on Aug. 14, 2015, at 4291 Kai Ikena Drive, Kalaheo.
Friends may visit with the family at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015. Visitation will be at 9 a.m. with mass to begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Ambrose Smith
Ambrose Smith of Kekaha passed away at Kauai Veteran’s Memorial Hospital on July 31, 2015, at the age of 94. Born on May 18, 1921, in Hanapepe, he was a chauffeur with Kekaha Sugar Plantation and a singer and musician with Smith’s Boats.
He is survived by his wife, Yoshie; sons, Danny (Carol) Smith of Kekaha, Allan (Linda L T) Smith of Lihue and Ray (Carolyn) Smith of Las Vegas, Nevada, daughter Linda Naomi (Ron) of Wasau Wisconsin; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at the Waimea United Church of Christ on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. with services to follow at 9 a.m.
