Congratulations to Alicia Jones and Justine Michioka on a great Miss Kauai USA and Miss Kauai Teen USA pageant Saturday night at the Kauai Community College Performing Arts Center.
Harley Broyles (she was a Miss Kauai Filipina contestant, too) would have been at the anti-bullying sign waving with the Kauai Pop Warner Football League (kudos to Pam and Teddy Arroyo on that great Fun Day!), but had to get ready for the pageant. Harley’s mom, Julie, said the new beauty queen is forming her own platform, Hugs Make it Better, based on her initials and centered on anti-bullying.
Congratulations to Diandra Melchor (she was a Miss Kauai Filipina contestant, too) and Jaeda Vega on the titles.
Kaira Kaaihue was supposed to be in Kona with the Junior Lifeguards (congratulations on the 12th state title!), but was doing the pageant. Cole Frye was also supposed to be with the Junior Lifeguards, but he is with Kawaihau Little League, which is in the Little League Intermediate World Series.
OK, time to go check out Judy Capertino and her new bakery (hope there’s some Mac Nut Sticky Buns left).
