Epifanio Rumbaoa Cadavona
Epifanio Rumbaoa Cadavona of Kihei, Maui passed away on July 12, 2015, at the age of 73. Born on April 7, 1942, in Lanao Bangui, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a retired service agent for Dollar Rent A Car. He had a passion for gardening, fishing, and collecting hats.
He is preceded in death by his father, Emilio Cadavona; mother, Mercedes Cadavona and sister, Crescencia Palencia.
Epifanio is survived by his wife, Zenaida Galicinao Cadavona of Kihei, Maui; son, Andres Cadavona of Hanamaulu, Kauai; four daughters, Angelita (Alex) Lagansua of Hanamaulu, Kauai, Anchita (Gene) Lagansua of Kihei, Maui, Sandra (Jay) Cudanes of Eleele, Kauai, Eva (Steven Matsunaga) Cadavona of Kihei, Maui; eleven grandchildren, Ezen Kays of Arizona, Karen Cadavona, Baby Ruth Cadavona, Chrissa Joy Lagansua all of Hanamaulu, Kauai, Jayson Cudanes, Jasabelle Cudanes, Jaszarae Cudanes, all of Eleele, Kauai, Kyle Zander Cadavona of California, Jhayar Cudanes of Eleele, Kauai; four great-grandchildren, Andre, Nick Renzon, Brayden and Samantha Cadavona, all of Hanamaulu, Kauai; five brothers, Eduardo (Esperanza) Cadavona of Kekaha, Kauai, Ernest (Mila) Cadavona of California, Eugene (Laurena) Cadavona of Nevada, Eliseo Cadavona of California, Elpidio (Doreen) Cadavona of Oahu; four sisters, Clair Cadavona Pascual, Conchita (Ronald) Samio, Celia (Sam) Banasihan, and Corazon (Frankie) Saligumba, all of Kauai and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai, from 9 to 11 a.m. Memorial services will begin at 11 a.m., with burial to follow at the Hanapepe Public Cemetery.

Trinidad Pascua
Trinidad Vea Rivera Pascua of Puhi passed away in Hale Kupuna Heritage Home on July 17, 2015, at the age of 92. She was born in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines and was a dedicated homemaker.
Trinidad is preceded in death by her husband, Francisco R. Pascua; parents, Marciana Vea and Jose Rivera; siblings, Avelina Asuncion Galapon, Juan Asuncion, Mauricio Asuncion, Ambrocio Asuncion, all of the Philippines and cousin, Andrea Sagisi of Hawaii.
She is survived by her sister, Rosalia Vea (Tomas) Asuncion of the Philippines; niece, Sandra (Kendall Moser) Sagisi Moser; grandniece, Ashley (Michael) Munguia; cousin, Miguel (Carol) Asuncion; hanai friend Ophelia Manibog; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2015, at Immaculate Conception Church with viewing from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Helen Iida
Helen Maxima Iida of Lihue passed away at home on July 22, 2015, at the age of 74. She was born in Hakalau, Big Island, Hawaii on March 4, 1941, and retired from Coco Palms Hotel as a hostess.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Iida; mother, Hilda Lei’ilima Kai and son, Llewellyn Yadao.
Helen is survived by two sons, Leland (Elaine) Yadao of Lihue, Barry (Everlyn) Yadao of Honolulu; five daughters, Yvonne (William) McKeown of Kapaa, Donna (Craig Yokote) Yadao of Eleele, Dee Ann (Nolan) Rapozo of Lihue, Moana Chun of Mililani, Desiree Chun of Mililani; 20 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Alfred (Lovey) Nabalta of Honolulu; nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015, at the McKeown Residence from 11 a.m. Call 639-1413 for directions.

John Keonaona Kaauwai
John Keonaona Kaauwai of Anahola, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on July 8, 2015, at the age of 81. Born on Aug. 18, 1933, in Kapaa, Kauai, he was a retired supervisor for The Department of Transportation, Highways Division.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Isaiah and Daisy Kaauwai and son, Steven Kaauwai.
John is survived by his wife, Barbara Kaauwai; daughters, Cheryl (Tony) Wilson, Kathleen Ibaan, Gaylynn (Judy) Go, Lehua (Dane) Kaauwai-Krueger, Lisa Abell; sons, John (Charlotte) Kaauwai, Duane Kaauwai, 23 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; brother, William Kaauwai; sisters, Henrietta (Robert) Gonsalves, Annette Kaauwai and Linda Iwamoto. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and aunt.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday Aug. 1, 2015, at Kapaa First Hawaiian Church. Visitation at 9 a.m., Service at 10 a.m., Burial to follow at Kapaa First Hawaiian Church Cemetery.

Maureen Morrison
Maureen W. Morrison of Lihue passed away at home on July 17, 2015, at the age of 82. She was born in Nawiliwili, Kauai, Hawaii on June 6, 1933, and was a volunteer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Rose West; husband, Edwin Morrison; sisters, Roxana and Maralyn.
She is survived by her brother, Robert and step-daughter, Margaret.

Fay Kawaguchi
Fay Kawaguchi, 68, passed away on May 16, 2015, in Las Vegas, NV. She was born in Waimea, Kauai, Hawaii to the late Sanroku and Tsurue Tanita.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Roland Kawaguchi; two sons, Conrad and Kenneth Kawaguchi; two brothers, Melvin Tanita; wife Elizabeth of Pearl City, HI and Robert Tanita and wife Janice of Waimea, Kauai, HI.
Funeral services will be held on Aug. 15, 2015, in Waimea, Kauai, HI, at West Kauai Honpa Hongwanji Church in Waimea. Visitation at 10 a.m., Service to follow at 11 a.m.

Florenda Rabago Calidayan
Florenda Rabago Calidayan of Lihue, passed away at Garden Isle Health Care on July 12, 2015, at the age of 92. Born on Jan. 1, 1923, in Aparri, Cagayan, Philippines, she was a retired housekeeper with Coco Palms Resort and Hotel.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Mariano Calidayan; parents, Ernesto Rabago, Rufina Reynol; brothers, Francisco Rualizo, Roberto Rualizo; sister, Virginia Guillermo and brother-in-law, Orlando Guillermo.
Florenda is survived by her adopted son, Conrad (Emcy) Rualizo of Lihue; adopted daughters, Mariflor (Judy) Calidayan Bautista of Manila, Philippines, Marilou (Julie) Repaje of Ballesteros, Philippines; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Vicente (Estrellita) Rualizo of Lihue, Ernest Robagao of Honolulu, Emery (Cindy Robago of Arizona; sisters, Adelina (Roberto) Romero of Aparri, Philippines, Dominga (Dominador) Morano of Aparri, Philippines and Lydia (Greg) Gagarinas of California and sister-in-laws, Carlita Rualizo of the Philippines and Violeta Rualizo of the Philippines.
Friends may visit with the family at St. Michaels Church in Lihue on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015. Visitation is at 9 a.m. with services to begin at 10 a.m. and burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Duane ‘Kalani’ Dawson Sr.
Duane “Kalani” Francis Kaleiokalani Dawson Sr. left this earth Thursday, July 9, 2015. Brought into this world by his mother, Clarice Mapuana Bruhn Kapana and father, Arnold Richardson. He was born on Dec. 6, 1945.
Kalani was raised and nurtured by his grandmother and grandfather, Florence Lyman and Paul Ogden Dawson Sr.
Kalani’s siblings, sisters, Puaala Wong, Kaui Kapana, Mihala Lee, Michele Baird and brothers, Jarrett Bruhn, Abraham Kapana, Leighton Kapana, Sandy Kapana, Joseph Kapana, Francis Kapana, their spouses, children and ohana all appreciated and respected him.
Kalani said, “my greatest accomplishment is my wife, Puna and the legacy of our children, Dondi, Rillo, Kalei, Dustin, Chelsey, Damon, Kristin, Denby; our grandchildren, Chassidy, Joey Sr., Chandi, Daron, Chanee, Tresten, Micah, Kalani Boy, Ryse, Hoakalei, British, Eonipono, Ayva, London, Kamakana, Meha, our great-grandchildren, Chawai, Jr., Hazyn, Xaenon, Levi, Gema, Treyten.”
A celebration of Kalani’s life will be held Aug. 9, 2015, at the Wailua River Mouth at 10 a.m. To follow, please join the family for a luau luncheon 11:30 a.m. at Smith’s Tropical Gardens.

Kathleen Haruko Kure
Kathleen Haruko Kure of Brier, WA, passed away on July 11, 2015, at the age of 71.. She was born in Waimea, Hawaii on Feb. 3, 1944. Kathleen was a retired Kmart Associate.
She is preceded in death by her father, Robert G. Fujimoto; daughter, Michele S. Kure and husband, Gary I. Kure.
Kathleen is survived by her sons, Nelson Kure of Lawai and Matthew (Alexa) Kure of Washington; granddaughters, Randi Kure and Tauren Kure of Washington; mother, Hatsumi Fujimoto of Lihue, Kauai; brothers, David Fujimoto of Kapaa, Kauai, Bobby (Toni) Fujimoto of Hanapepe, Kauai; sisters, Eileen (Charles) Powell of California, Cora Fujimoto of California and Coleen Pantohan of Kapaa, Kauai; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
You may join the family for a celebration of Kathleen’s life on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, at Kapaa Assembly of God at 4581 Koa St, Kapaa. Viewing is scheduled at 10 a.m. with service to follow at 11 a.m. The family has chosen to hold a private burial.
The family suggests casual attire. Flowers graciously accepted.
