John Cova is going to get “famous” because he loves his minions.
His uncle, Leighton Moniz of Kapaa High School, already made his name by scoring the only touchdown at the spring Green-and-White football game (played on the same day and time as the Red-and-White game), and more recently, was selected to Team Baseball with Kauai High School player Micah Layosa.
John could care less that more than 200 players tried out for positions on Team Baseball, or that the team will be playing during the Fall Classic in Arizona this October — he just loved his minion!
Speaking of which, Glenn Mickens is looking for coaches to help with the Major League Baseball clinic coming up Wednesday. Glenn is trying to get a hold of Tyler Yates or Micah Furtado. Hopefully, Ashkhon Kuhaulua or Taran Tani will make it through the Braves’ tryouts this weekend, and they might be able to help him out. We have a lot of great baseball coaches who can help out Coach Mickens.
Good luck to Kalaheo FC coaches Steve Hunt, Martin Steinhaus and Michelle Alimboyoguen (they got a mayor’s proclamation Monday) at the national futsal tournament in California!
