Marissa McFerrin-Warrack said the Kauai Community Market, a partnership with the Kauai Farm Bureau, was open on July 4 since she got a lot of phone calls.
Congratulations to Elizabeth Hahn who finished the betta competition year as a solid No. 2 breeder in the United States! She had some relatives of her award-winning fish at the market and Tiffany Lum made a connection with an orange — is there any more room on her desk?
Brian Yamamoto (he was busy at last week’s bon dance in Kapaa) was checking out the market in preparation for a visit by Canadian students. But there were no bees on the asphalt since Honi Honi Honey was on July 4 break. In his stead, was nice to see Coach Fred Sasan cruising the marketplace, and Sandi Kato-Klutke let her granddaughter handle the market solo, except we won’t get into the first-day experience.
