POIPU — Kim Medeiros topped the Steer Undecorating event with a 6.82 average and heeled for Cheyenne Andrade for a 28.06 average for top honors in the Dally Team Roping event Sunday at the Kauai All Girls Rodeo Association event at the CJM Country Stables.
The pair of top finishes was enough to put her as the All Around Cowgirl with 36 points.
Rhonda Refamonte, topping the Breakaway Roping event on a 10.13 average, and heading for Laureen Naumu-Balocan for fourth place in the Dally Team event on a 11.01 go, led her to Reserve All Around Cowgirl at 28 points.
During the Dally Team event, the Refamonte and Naumu-Balocan duo also posted Fast Time honors in the event with their 11.01 go.
Refamonte added to her winnings with a fourth-place finish in the Steer Undecorating (8.31), and fifth in the 2D of Barrel Racing (19.899).
Kim Medeiros, in addition to her two top finishes, went on to heel for Cora Murayama for fifth place (13.40/1) in the Dally Team event, fifth in the 1st D of Barrel Racing (18.695) and placed fourth in the 2nd D of Pole Bending (24.424).
The public is invited to view the competition when KAGRA hosts its next rodeo on July 26 at the CJM Country Stables, located about a mile past the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa.
There is no admission charge for KAGRA rodeo, and there are lunch wagons available to whet appetites and quench thirsts (non-alcoholic beverages).
