LIHUE — A Princeville man was found not guilty Tuesday afternoon of sexual assault and kidnapping charges.
Dean C. Wilson, 47, was found not guilty on two counts of sexual assault in the first degree, one count of sexual assault in the third degree, and one count of kidnapping.
The incident reportedly occurred May 6, 2012 in Princeville.
Although Wilson and the woman were in a relationship at the time, the woman said she did not consent to the sexual act, according to court records and testimony.
Judge Randal Valenciano presided over the jury trial that began June 15 at the Fifth District Court in Lihue.
The jury returned its verdict of not guilty Tuesday. A story in Wednesday’s TGI incorrectly reported the case was continued.
