Paula and Jan Rudinoff interrupted their world travels to take part in the 7th annual Kauai Mayor-a-Thon (did Kenny Ishii ever make the Father’s Day event at Kukui Grove?) Saturday at the Kapaa Beach Park.
Jan got time to chat with Tom Summers (he was at the special “Jurassic World” showing) while Paula ambled off for Zumba, and Kaleo Carvalho announced his name more than once, but never won any of the prizes.
Kudos to Bev Brody and all the hard-working people for putting this event together. Nadine Nakamura is trying to figure out how to get the other mayors here for this event (what kind of Mayor’s Challenge can we come up with?)
The big question is what is Kinohi Naihe going to do after walking/running the course and then, still garbed in her sash and crown for Miss Keiki Aloha, even beat Grace Peralta in the hula hoop contest. Kinohi got help from Miss Garden Isle Nicholette Levinthol (is she related to coach Freddy Levinthol who let the Mayor-a-Thon use his Kapaa High School water dispenser?).
