The King’s Celebration and Parade is scheduled 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. This year’s theme is Hu‘e‘ia ka wai i pa‘a (drawing water from rock).
The parade starts at Vidinha Stadium and travels up Rice Street to the Historic County Building. There will be full Pa‘u units, floats, walking and riding units. There will be live entertainment, crafts and local food outside the county building following the parade. There are more than 150 horses in the parade.
The Pa‘u Queen is Meslissa Ornellas. Pa‘u Marshal is Adam Ronald Brun Jr. His family and friends will represent “this recently lost cowboy.”
Rice Street will be closed starting at 8:30 a.m. until following the parade.
Those planning to attend should arrive early to claim a spot.
