Kudos to Diann Hartman, Patti Ornellas and all the volunteers (Glenn Santos said they were setting up from 6 a.m.) on another successful Bark for Life fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.
John Planas said he’s been volunteering for the past three years, and Coach Dean Pigao was on hand to make sure that everything went smoothly.
Mary Williamson had to decide between the Bark and the Haena-Hanalei Run, and ended up at the Bark because she lives in Kalaheo (how long to drive to Hanalei?).
Patti said Mary Lardizabal (she must have been too excited about the Sam Bonanno ukulele contribution) hosted the annual Kapaa Middle School Field Day event to launch the push for the Relay for Life North Shore event which will be held Aug. 21 (it’s a long weekend, people!) at the Kauai Christian Academy campus (it’s a really nice venue for a Relay) in Kilauea.
On a visit to Art Umezu (how many realize Randall Francisco helped Art to set up the first International Film Festival?), Melissia Sugai is getting ready for the big Kamehameha Day parade on Saturday in Lihue from 9 a.m.
