KAPAA — Since 2000, Marilyn Mohler, founder of Hui O Na Makua Hookahi O Kauai, a grassroots nonprofit run by volunteers, has been dedicated to helping Kauai’s single-parent families with meals, housing, monetary aid, transportation, birthday parties and more.
In honor of Mother’s Day, the Hui hosted dinner at Brick Oven Pizza in Kapaa for moms and volunteers. Special guest, J’anet Tolentino demonstrated how to make an emergency survival bucket.
