LIHUE — The Kauai Chapter of the American Cancer Society (ACS) will host the 5th annual Bark For Life Kauai on Saturday at Kauai Lagoons.
Bark For Life is an ACS fundraising event that honors the relationship between dogs and their owners. This year’s event offers great ocean views, a shady walk, contests with prizes for dogs and people, Dog Fancier’s agility course and a silent auction.
Registration is at 7 a.m. The non-competitive walk begins at 8 a.m. From 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. there will be contests, an agility course and prizes. Contests include: best costume, most appropriate name, most unique color, fastest eater, best trick, pet/owner lookalike and more.
There will be a silent auction with items including gift certificates, jewelry, arts and crafts.
The event will be at Kauai Lagoons at the end of the road (turn off Nawiliwili Road as if going to the Marriott and continue on that road to the end; there will be signs).
Registration is $25 for one canine and human companion, $40 for two, or $100 for a team of five. Those who don’t have a dog but want to support Bark For Life are welcome to attend and donate. Register or donate at www.relayforlife.org/barkkauaihi.
All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.
