LIHUE — The Department of Parks and Recreation is hosting a public hearing to consider requests for surf and stand up paddling schools and boating companies at Hanalei Bay and Black Pot Beach Park to amend the “Rules and Regulations Relating to the Use of Parks and Park Facilities by Peddlers and Concessionaires.”
The hearing will be held at 9 a.m. on June 2, in Meeting Room 2 of the Lihue Civic Center Moikeha Building, located at 4444 Rice St.
All interested persons are invited to present testimony at the hearing.
Those unable to attend the hearing may submit written testimony prior to the hearing. Testimony should be mailed to the Department of Parks and Recreation, 4444 Rice St., Suite 105, Lihue, HI 96746, or emailed to louderkirk@kauai.gov. Written testimony will be accepted up to seven days after the close of the hearing, in cases where the director does not take action on the same day of the hearing.
Copies of the proposed rules are available for inspection during normal business hours at the Department of Parks and Recreation. The documents can also be mailed for a fee. To request a copy, call Lorna at 241-4458.
