Kauai high school students are welcome to apply for an exchange study program in Japan.
“You will assimilate into a fascinating way of life, the rich history and culture of Japan, and learn at the same time, your own identity, the curiosity of differences, and learn to build confidence in who you are,” said a press release.
Moriyama City is sister-city to the County of Kauai, and this program is sponsored by the Kauai and Moriyama Rotary Clubs.
Those selected will attend Ritsumeikan High School on scholarship for the exchange study program. Room and board is free, provided by host families. Students are responsible for their own spending money. Applications are due while students are ending their freshman year of high school or beginning their sophomore year. The deadline to apply is early September. The Kauai Rotary Club will be fundraising to defray the $5,000 expense as much as possible.
