Dr. Katherine Muzik is thrilled with the new Ricoh/Pentax underwater camera she received.
“It’s got GPS,” Muzik said while receiving an orientation from Don and Lucy Ogasawara of Don’s Camera (they’re a Pentax dealer on Kauai). “Everything we submit about the coral needs to have GPS.”
Katherine is working on Mala Moana, or Ocean Garden, off the multi-use path in Kapaa, and is excited because the Junior Lifeguards program has invited her to speak during one of the summer programs.
OK, time to go check out Ed Kawamura and his ohana at the Power Equipment Expo, and then, it’s off to check out Mary Ann Ornellas and the fourth annual Teen Health Fair (Cyndi Ayonon said Mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr. is scheduled to do a proclamation) starting at 5:30 p.m. at Kukui Grove Center (Harvey Kinoshita, Steven Fujii and the other East Kauai Lions won’t be there because they’re at the Lions convention on Oahu).
Don’t forget, it’s the Visitor Industry Charity Walk starting at 6:30 a.m., Saturday at the Historic County Building.
