A two-car crash occurred at roughly 11:30 a.m. Monday on Kuhio Highway, fronting Robert’s Hawaii in Hanamauulu.
According to police, a Chrysler van, operated by a 64-year-old male taxi driver, was turning left from the southbound lane of the highway when it was struck by an oncoming Toyota pickup truck, causing the van to flip onto its driver’s side.
The taxi driver, a Lihue man, and his two adult passengers, were assisted out of the vehicle.
One passenger, a 35-year-old Missouri man, suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Wilcox Hospital. No other injuries were reported, including the male driver of the Toyota pickup, 42, of Kapaa.
Police directed traffic around the crash until about 12:20 p.m., when the roadway was cleared.
