Christopher R. Baird
Christopher R. Baird of Honolulu, born December 22, 1959, passed away in Honolulu on April 19, 2015 at the age of 55.
He is preceded in death by his father, the Rev. Lyle Baird.
Chris is survived by his mother, Graceleanor Baird, wife Michelle Kapana-Baird, son, Nanea; sisters; Catherine (Polly Rowland) Baird; Cynthia (Lyle) Ceballos; and numerous nephews and nieces
Chris graduated from Waimea High School, Class if 1978; Western Washington University and the University of Hawaii. He was a teacher at the Hawaii Juvenile Detention Center in Honolulu and Kapolei. Chris was active, both as a participant and coach on Kauai and Oahu, in Volleyball, Soccer, Baseball, Basketball and Canoe Paddling. He served on the crew of the Hokule’a and Hikianalia and sailed with them on numerous voyages.
Join the family for a celebration of Chris’s life in Honolulu on May 16, 2015 at Central Union Church at 4 pm. A Celebration of his life will be held on Kauai for Family and friends at Plantation Cottages on June 28 at 4 pm.
Joseph Rozon
Joseph Laurant Raymond Rozon of Kapaa, HI, passed away on January 9, 2015. Born December 31, 1948 in London, England, Joseph spent his life as an Artist and Barista. He retired from Java Kai, Kapaa, HI in October of 2012.
Joseph is preceded by his parents, Raymond Joseph Razon and Jean Dorothy Hobbs Rozon. He is survived by his son, Aaron Rozon and Aaron’s Mom Michelle Rozon; brother, Michele Rozon. Joseph is also survived by his life partner, Peggy McClure.
A “Celebration of Joseph’s Life” will take place on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at 3:30 pm till 6:30pm. Join us at Kealia Beach Park, Last Pavilion, South of the Lifeguard Station (just before the Pedestrian Bridge). Come as you are.
Yatsu Okimoto
Yatsu Okimoto of Lihue, Kauai passed away on April 27, 2015 at Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital at the age of 91. Born on July 1, 1923 in Moloaa, Kauai, she was the stronghold of her family, a loving wife & mother, a caring & supportive auntie and a respected employee & supervisor at Hilo Hattie’s.
Yatsu is preceded in death by her husband, Kiyoto Okimoto.
She is survived by her daughters, Arlene (Wayne) Yamada of Castro Valley, California, and Joyce (Steve) Nishimura of Bainbridge Island, Washington; son, Wayne (Kathy) Okimoto of Reno, Nevada; brothers, Minoru Shimokawa and David Shimokawa, 5 grandchildren and 9 great children, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Filipe Tupou
Filipe Tupou of Wailua Homesteads, Kauai passed away on May 1, 2015 at the age of 60. Born May 19, 1954 in Tonga, he was self-employed as Owner of Kauai Tree Service.
Filipe is preceded in death by his wife Irene Shendrina Momi Tupou, his parents Seini and Finau Tupou, brother Tu’ifua Tupou, and Mother in law Harriet Kalama-Soares.
Filipe is survived by his daughters; Crystal (Kirk) Momi Tupou of Lahaina, Maui; Casey (Ashley)Tupou, Candace Tupou, and Cassandra “Ulu” Tupou all of Wailua Homesteads; grandsons Kaeo Rita-Tupou, Zaedyn Tupou, Tryston “Kala”Tupou all of Wailua Homesteads; Radyn Yap of Lahaina, Maui; granddaughter Keahi Tupou of Wailua Homesteads; brothers Samisoni “Soni” (Shana) Tupou of Anahola, ‘Olotesi (Nesi) Tupou of Mu’a, Tonga; sisters Laukau (Maselo) Paseka of Lapaha, Tonga, Sitilia (Mosese) Fifita of New Zealand, ‘Ane (Kolomaile) Takataka of Australia, Nita (Piota) Latu of American Samoa, Hulita Tupou of New Zealand, Eviana (Tevita) Fifita of Ma’ufanga, Tonga; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
A celebration of Filipe’s life will be held Saturday, May 16, 2015, at Wailua Homesteads Park at 10:30 followed by a luncheon.

Wesley Edward Blumer
Wesley Edward “Wes” Blumer, 41, of Effingham, Illinois was fatally injured on Friday, December 26, 2014. He was born on June 19, 1973 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
He is survived by parents Edward “Ed” and Lorraine “Lorrie” (Semana) Blumer of Effingham, IL, grandmothers Rose Semana of Koloa, Hawaii and Glendora Blumer-Howarth of Ottumwa, Iowa, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by grandfathers, Harold Keith Blumer of Blakesburg, Iowa and Nicholas Semana, Sr. of Koloa and uncle, Nicholas Semana, Jr. of Honolulu, Hawaii.
A celebration of his life will be held Thursday, May 14, 2015 at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church, Koloa. Family and friends may visit with the family at 9:00 a.m. Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. with private interment.

William Anthony Kisken
William Anthony Kisken of Omao passed away at home on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the age of 91. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was a retired Lineman Supervisor for Northeast Utilities in Greenwich CT. Bill was a World War II, US Army veteran who served in China, Burma, and India.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Gloria Ann Kisken of Omao, sons, William M Kisken and (wife Aurora) of Omao, Stephen J Kisken and (wife Barbara) of Darien, CT., daughters, Elizabeth A Solazzo and (husband Richard) of Fairfield, CT. and Susan M Posson and (husband Lorne) of Wilton, CT. In addition to his children, he is also survived by 7 grandchildren and sister, Mary Wanag of Southbury, CT.
Private services will be held at Saint Raphael Church in Koloa, followed by burial with military honors at Hanapepe Veterans Cemetery. The family request that flowers be omitted and donations made to Kaua’i Hospice Inc. The Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Center for Compassion. 4457 Pahe’e Street, Lihue, HI 96766.

Tiburcio Bungay Agu
Tiburcio Bungay Agu age 84 of Kekaha, died April 27,2015 at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital. He was born in Koloa on August 11, 1930. He retired from Kekaha Sugar Plantation and a veteran of the Hawaii Air National Guard.
Tiburcio is survived by his wife Juanita Amoroso Agu, daughter, Renita (Keith) Yoshikawa of Kailua Oahu, sons Vernon Agu of Oklahoma City, Dominic (Wendy) Agu of Hanapepe, Benedict (Jackie ) Agu of Eleele, sister Mary Kaluna on Oahu, Hanai Sisters, Emma Lapitan of Oahu,Vivian Leilani Waikiki,of Henderson Nevada, 8 grandchildren, 3 step randchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday May 22, 2015 at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary in Koloa at 9:00 AM viewing. Service will follow at 10:00 AM, Burial will follow at Hanapepe Veterans Cemetery. The family suggests casual attire

Robert Alan Kai’opua Fyfe
Robert Alan Kai’opua Fyfe of Lihue, Kauai passed away on May 4, 2015 at home at the age of 72. Born on November 20, 1942 in Alameda, CA, he was a senior construction estimator.
He is predeceased by his son, Shaun Alan Fyfe and parents, Robert Benzi Fyfe and Annabelle Kaluna Alanui Muller Fyfe.
He is survived by his partner, Sabra Kauka of Lihue; sons, George (Tonya) Keith Fyfe and Erin Joseph Fyfe, grandchildren, Nichole Nadine Kekaula Fyfe, Robert Shaun Fyfe, Karsianna Shaleen Fyfe, and Kinzington Haven Fyfe, sisters, Sylvia Ku’ulei Momi Thacker and Carole Ann Kaui Henderson, and daughter-in-law Denise Taranto, all of California.
A celebration of Kai’opua’s life will be held in June on Kauai. Details to be announced. Aloha attire is requested and leis are welcome.

Louis Markel, of Lihue, Kauai passed away at the age of 75 on January 22, 2015 at Wilcox Hospital.

Louis was born on March 22, 1939 in New York and was a Retired Radio Technician.
He was survived by his caregiver, Julian (Felix) Ganiron.
Services and inurnment were held on Friday May 8, 2015 at Kauai Veterans Cemetery.

Joseph Delostrico
Joseph Delostrico of Hanamaulu passed away in Garden Isle Healthcare on May 3, 2015, at the age of 77. He was born in Hanamaulu, Kauai on January 17, 1938, and retired from Lihue Sugar Plantation as a truck driver.
Preceded in death by his wife, Mitsue Delostrico; son, Russell Matsuyama and daughter, Cindy Alpeche.
He is survived by his son, Roy (Laura) Matsuyama; 8 grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Parraga; Landi Henriques; nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held.
