Alfredo ‘Sonny’ Asuncion
Alfredo “Sonny” Asuncion of Wailua Homesteads Kauai, Hawaii, passed on April 4, 2015, in Honolulu, at the age of 77. Born on April 16, 1937 in Kealia, he was a retired carpenter, and avid fisherman.
Alfredo is preceded in death by his son Keith Asuncion, Step-daughter Kim Hocson, Granddaughter Kaiyah Alani. Sister Dolores “Baby” Stepherson, Brother Philip Asuncion, Father Juan Asuncion and mother Saturnina Asuncion.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Asuncion of Wailua Homesteads, Daughter Jan Kaleimamahu (Aloha) of Omao; Son Wayne “Augie” Asuncion (Teresa); Son Alfredo “Kimo” Escalante (Allyson) Grand-son Kadyn Randall of Kauai (Jennifer Simmons); Grand-daughter Keala Simmons-Asuncion of California; Son Raymond Asuncion (Sarah) Grand-daughters Violet and Lehua of Kilauea; Step Grand-daughter Lea “Kanani” Alani (Arley), Grandchildren Jamin Lopez, Kymani, Arley, Koloe and Karley Alani of Hilo; Step-Daughter Michelle Saia of Wailua Homesteads, Grandchildren Andrew; Natasha of Kealia Tiane Lao; Latu of Utah; Step-Daughter Danette Medeira of Wailua Homesteads; Grandchildren Randy Teves-Aban of Oahu, Ashley Teves-Aban, Kala and Annie Rose Medeira of Wailua Homesteads; Step-Son Stanford Aban (Chantel) of Wailua Houselots Grandson Stanford Aban Jr.; Sister Beatrice Furamoto of Kealia and Brother Juan Jr. Asuncion; Ursula of Las Vegas; Numerous Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews.
Celebration of his life will be held at St. Catherine’s Church Kapaa on Saturday, May 23, 2015. You may visit with the family at 9:30am Services will follow at 11am Casual attire suggested.

Russel Kieth Marshall Sr.
Russel Kieth Marshall Sr. of Lihue passed away in Garden Isle Health Care on April 13, 2015, at the age of 77. He was born in Baraboo, Wisconsin on May 12, 1937, and retired as a Planting Coordinator with Lihue Sugar Plantation.
He is preceded in death by his son, Russel Jr. and Vernon Marshal and is survived by his wife, Erodita Marshall; son Michael (Melanie) Marshall of Kapaa, Carlito (Sylvia) Marshall of Oahu, Froilan (Amalia) Marshall of Chino, California, Ruel Marshall of Oahu, Angel (Jamie) Marshall of Lihue; daughters, Katherine (Daniel) Kamai of Anaheim, California, Travan Kelekoma of Anaheim, California, Corinna (Rod) Davis of Oregon, Kirstie (Martin) Banda of Anaheim, California, Harlynn (Richard) Rodriquez of Anaheim California; 24 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and numerous siblings.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2015, at Immaculate Conception Church with visitation from 8:00 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10:00 a.m.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Marshall family with arrangements.
Placida Jose Visitacion
Placida Jose Visitacion passed away peacefully at Queen’s Medical Center, at the age of 66. She was born in Vintar, Ilocos Norte, Philippines on September 11, 1948 and was employed by Up-To-Date Cleaners.
Preceded in death by her parents, Salvador and Evarista Jose; brothers, Rodrigo Jose, and Rodolfo Jose; sister, Francisca Jose; and brother-in-law, Francisco Mabini.
She is survived by her husband, Pablo Visitacion of Kekaha; son, Arnel (Alicia) Visitacion of Kekaha; daughter, Arleen (Emmanuel) Marcos of San Jose, California; granddaughter, Charlene Visitacion; and grandson, Charlz Allen Visitacion, both of Kekaha, and Andre Marcos of San Jose, California; sisters, Pilar (Dennis) Mabini of Hanapepe, Priscilla (Eduardo) Acoba of Florida, LiwLiwa Mabini of Waimea and Reynalda (Renato) Acoba of Kaumakani; brothers, Villamor (Nicolasa) Jose of Koloa, Pepito (Gloria) Jose of Kahului, Maui and Vincent (Lynn) Jose of Kaumakani; brother-in-law, Segundo (Louie) Visitacion of the Philippines; sister-in-laws, Shirley (Loreto) Agudo of Hilo, Hawaii and Erlinda Longboy of the Philippines; as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, May 9, 2015, at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo, from 8am – 9am. Mass will begin at 9:30am, with burial to follow at the Hanapepe Public Cemetery.

Filipe Tupou
Filipe Tupou of Wailua Homesteads, Kauai passed away on May 1, 2015, at the age of 60. Born May 19, 1954 in Tonga, he was self-employed as Owner of Kauai Tree Service.
Filipe is preceded in death by his wife Irene Shendrina Momi Tupou, his parents Seini and Finau Tupou, brother Tu’ifua Tupou, and Mother in law Harriet Kalama-Soares.
Filipe is survived by his daughters; Crystal (Kirk) Momi Tupou of Lahaina, Maui; Casey (Ashley)Tupou, Candace Tupou, and Cassandra “Ulu” Tupou all of Wailua Homesteads; grandsons Kaeo Rita-Tupou, Zaedyn Tupou, Tryston “Kala”Tupou all of Wailua Homesteads; Radyn Yap of Lahaina, Maui; granddaughter Keahi Tupou of Wailua Homesteads; brothers Samisoni “Soni” (Shana) Tupou of Anahola, ‘Olotesi (Nesi) Tupou of Mu’a, Tonga; sisters Laukau (Maselo) Paseka of Lapaha, Tonga, Sitilia (Mosese) Fifita of New Zealand, ‘Ane (Kolomaile) Takataka of Australia, Nita (Piota) Latu of American Samoa, Hulita Tupou of New Zealand, Eviana (Tevita) Fifita of Ma’ufanga, Tonga; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
A celebration of Filipe’s life will be held Saturday, May 16, 2015, at Wailua Homesteads Park at 10:30 followed by a luncheon.

Robert L. Fortune
Robert L. Fortune passed away on May 4, 2015, in Bossier City, LA, surrounded by his loving family and friends, passed away after a courageous seven-year battle with prostate cancer.
He was born on February 28, 1944 in Ancon, Canal Zone. Bob moved to Bossier City in 1985 after being transferred to the 2nd Combat Support Group – Strategic Air Command, Barksdale Air Force Base from which he retired in 1987. He was a husband, “Dad,” son, brother, ball-player, inventor, sports card collector, father-figure, and friend to many. Bob was also a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bossier City. He was a graduate of Kauai High School.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, John B. & Dora Morato Fortune; sisters Linda DeLafuente’ and Bertha Martin. He is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Shirley; children Robert L. Fortune, Jr. and wife Jennifer of Bossier City, Louisiana; Wesley T. Fortune and wife Kara of Canal Winchester, Ohio; Tracie Fortune Omlie and husband Patrick of Cypress, Texas; Jeffrey T. Fortune and wife Callie of Allen, Texas; and Jodi Lynn Fortune of Bossier City, Louisiana; brother John B. Fortune, Jr. and his wife Charlotte of Houston, Texas; and sister Betty Brun of Kalaheo, Kauai, Hawaii.
Bob was “Grandpa” to Alli Margaret Ann, Abbigail, Walker, and Addison Fortune of Canal Winchester, Ohio; Kate and Matthew Fortune of Bossier City; Louisiana; Cailee and Emily Omlie of Cypress, Texas; and Knox and Phoebe Fortune of Allen, Texas.
Bob is a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he earned and was decorated with the Air Force (“AF”) Commendation Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, AF Outstanding Unit Award with Valor and one Oak Leaf Cluster, AF Good Conduct Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Service Medal Vietnam Service Medal, AF Overseas Short Tour ribbon, AF Overseas Long Tour ribbon with one Oak Leaf Cluster, AF Longevity Service Award ribbon with four Oak Leaf Clusters, Non-Commissioned Officer’s Professional Military Education Graduate ribbon, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship ribbon, AF Training ribbon, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.
Active Pallbearers will be Robert L. Fortune, Jr., Wesley T. Fortune, Jeffrey T. Fortune, Ronald Lehmann, Tommy Beard, and Jimmy Wilcher. Honorary Pallbearers will be John B. Fortune, Jr., Marty Crowder, Damon Doss, Larry Lehmann, Jarvis Lehmann, David Lehmann and Brit Ging.
The family will have visitation on Thursday from 6 – 8 p.m. at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City; Services for Bob will be held this Friday at 2 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2565 Airline Drive with Reverend Sig Kunz officiating. Interment will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery in Bossier City.

Joseph Rozon
Joseph Laurant Raymond Rozon of Kapaa, HI, passed away on January 9, 2015. Born December 31, 1948 in London, England, Joseph spent his life as an Artist & Barista. He retired from Java Kai, Kapaa, HI in October of 2012.
Joseph is preceded by his parents, Raymond Joseph Razon and Jean Dorothy Hobbs Rozon. He is survived by his son, Aaron Rozon and Aaron’s Mom Michelle Rozon; brother, Michele Rozon.
Joseph is also survived by his life partner, Peggy McClure.
A “Celebration of Joseph’s Life” will take place on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at 3:30 pm till 6:30pm.
Join us at Kealia Beach Park, Last Pavilion, south of the Lifeguard Station (just before the Pedestrian Bridge).
