Bernice Braun
Bernice B. Braun of Kapaa passed away in Wilcox Memorial Hospital on April 15, 2015, at the age of 91. She was born in Hanalei, Kauai on November 23, 1923, and was a dedicated mother.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur P. Braun; grandson, Shawn Ishii and 8 siblings.
Bernice is survived by sons, Lloyd Braun of Oahu, Roger Braun of Kapaa; daughters, Pamela Garcia of the Big Island, Kathy (Pat) Ishii of Lawai, Pamela Shimomura of Wailua House Lots; 6 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren; one sister, Gertrude Rodrigues of Kapaa; numerous nieces and nephews.
Private graveside services were held at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Braun family with arrangements.
Marian Ishiki
Marian Rose Leinaala Ishiki, 83, of Kaneohe, Oahu died April 4, 2014 in Kaneohe. She was born in Honolulu and was a retired Distribution Center Supervisor for Liberty House.
Marian is survived by sons; Robert Ishiki, Jr. of Kilauea, Kauai, Mark Ishiki of Kapaa, Kauai, and Eric Colin Ishiki of Kaneohe; daughters Karen Tillery of Vacaville, California, Sharon Ah Nee of Kaneohe, Sandra Duldulao of Makakilo, Koren Refamonte of Kapaa and Nadine Begley of Kapaa; 26 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; sister Wilhemina “Audrey” Mangrobang of Aiea and brothers Gilbert Lewis of Liliha, and Robert Lewis of Liliha; brother-in-law George Ishiki of Kaneohe and sister-in-law Jane Nakasone of Aiea.
Oahu Services Visitation 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Kaneohe Missionary Baptist Church, 45-131 Waikapoki Road , in Kaneohe. Service to follow at 5:00 p.m.
Committal service is to take place at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 4, 2015 at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery. Family suggests casual attire.
Franklin Silva, Sr.
Franklin Noel Silva Sr. of Makaweli passed away on Thursday April 16, 2015 at Pali Momi Hospital Oahu at the age of 76.
Born on December 26, 1938 in Makaweli, Kauai. He was a retired water truck operator for Gay & Robinson.
Franklin is peceded in death by grandson Guy Silva.
He is survived by wife Bernice Silva of Makaweli, sons, Franklin Jr. (Lorraine) Silva of Kaumakani, Willie (Vernie) Silva of Oahu, Vincent Silva of Makaweli and daughter Lisa (Sione) Latu of Hanamaulu, brothers John (Irene) Silva of Oahu, Walter (Jasmin) Silva of Makaweli, Antone Silva of Kona and Richard (Tito) Silva of Kalaheo, 15 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday May 2, 2015 at Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai at 10:00 a.m., followed by a service to celebrate his life at 11:30 a.m. The family suggests casual attire and flowers be omitted.

Shirley Jean Peterson
Shirley Jean Peterson, of Lawai, HI passed away on April 12, 2015 at the age of 80 in Honolulu, HI. She was born in Hilo, HI. She was a cashier for Aloha Petroleum and Longs and a salesperson for R. Baird and Company.
Shirley is survived by her daughters, Brenda Ruiz and Katherine L. Peterson; sister, Eleanor “Cookie” Wond; 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
The family has chosen to have private services.
The Peterson family is being assisted by Ultimate Cremation Services LLC.
Jose Pacol
Jose Macalma Pacol passed away on April 28, 2015 at home at the age of 81. Born on March 17, 1934, in Paoay Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a mechanic and cane haul operator with the Kekaha Sugar Cane Plantation.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Gregorio and Teofila; son, Jose Junior Gomez Pacol; and sister, Ana Pacol Caday.
He is survived by his wife, Corazon Gomez Pacol; three sons, Melvyn (Tereza) Pacol of Puhi, Donald Dennis Gomez Pacol of Puhi, and Regie (Erin) Pacol of Kennesaw, Georgia; five grandchildren, Brittney Pacol, Taylor Pacol, Blake Lacro Pacol, Makayla Pacol, and Jocelyn Pacol; brother, Loreto Pacol of Ele’ele; and sister, Melie (Honorato) Pacol Dela Cruz of Kekaha.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, May 8, 2015 at the Garden Island Chapel in Lawai. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. with services at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at Lihue Cemetary.
