LIHUE — Kauai’s six credit unions will be conducting their annual islandwide food drive in support of the Kauai Independent Food Bank May 11-22.
“Our goal this year is to raise $15,000 in monetary donations and as much pounds of food as we can collect,” said Melvin Chiba, president of the Kauai Chapter of the Hawaii Credit Union League. “It’s essential that Kauai’s credit unions support the KIFB because food and money collected stays on Kauai and helps feed the island’s many hungry families.”
Each credit union will have a designated collection area and donations can be dropped off during regular business hours at the following credit unions: Garden Island FCU (Lihue and Koloa), Kauai Community FCU (Waimea, Eleele, Kukui Grove, Lihue, Kapaa), Kauai Government Employees FCU & Kauai Teachers FCU (Lihue), Kekaha FCU, and McBryde FCU (Eleele).
