People interested in preserving local history by becoming a tour guide will be the focus of Grove Farm Museum’s presentation on Tuesday.
Robert Schleck, museum director, will give a brief history of the homestead and offer an introductory version of the full two-hour tour that visitors experience. Originally part of 900 acres of farmland acquired by G.N. Wilcox in 1864, the museum’s main house and collection of smaller cottages, farm buildings and gardens today are beautifully preserved. Grove Farm museum offers its volunteers a detailed tour guide course in eight weekly sessions.
The presentation is 10 a.m. to noon at the Grove Farm Museum office, 4050 Nawiliwili Road in Lihue.
