There is still time to join the fun at the 37th annual Visitor Industry Charity Walk, said June Cappiello of the Sheraton Kauai Resort.
Saturday night, hundreds of people enjoyed themselves at a bowling fundraiser at a sold out Lihue Bowling Center to raise funds for the annual walk, which has a goal of $250,000.
Along the way, several other upcoming fundraising events include a car wash on May 2 at the Kukui Grove Center and a Countdown to Charity Walk on May 9, featuring a silent auction as well as exhibits from the beneficiary nonprofit organizations.
With a theme of “Lucky Live Kauai,” the 2.9-mile charity walk launches May 16 with registration starting at 6:30 a.m. and the walk starting at 7 a.m. at the Historic County Building.
Last year, more than 50 of Kauai’s nonprofits shared in the $230,000 raised by walkers. All money raised on Kauai stays on Kauai.
