Shania Rita is in the batter’s box for Waimea and the dugout starts its chant which has “poke and poi, extra large lilikoi (time to check this out at Aunty Lilikoi), and Big Boy no ka oi?” Add some Tahitian rhythm to it and that’s almost as good as the “Mickey Rat” chant a few seasons ago.
Congrats to coach Teddy Perreira and the Menehune on coming from behind to take the opening game of the second round — they play Kauai High School at the Waimea Canyon Park at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Time to check out Ray Ellis and the new aluminum roofing at the CAK Home Show (don’t forget — the Keiki Workshop by The Home Depot is today and Saturday).
Kudos to all the KIF volleyball teams and the great volleyball (four games in five days?)! Good luck in the second round!
Also time to check out Laurie Ho at the Garden Fair Saturday. Daniel Kawamura is trying to figure out what they’re going to fill the big tent with, and John McClure with Moloaa Bay Coffee (and Chocolate) is getting excited about the Judy Capertina creations from Haole Girl Croissants.
