LIHUE — The next Kauai Interscholastic Federation softball game will be 3:30 p.m. Wednesday when Waimea High School travels to the Kapaa High School facility.
Playoffs were not necessary after Kauai High School swept Kapaa, 13-3 and 6-4, last Saturday during the Raiders’ home game at Isenberg Field to earn the first round.
Entering the games, Kauai needed the two wins to clinch the first round. A split would have forced a playoff against Waimea for the first round, and a double loss would have given the round to Waimea.
Wednesday’s game in Kapaa marks the start of the second round.
The 3:30 p.m. start time is due to the Kapaa facility not having lights installed. The normal start time for Wednesday matches is 5:30 p.m.
