Hildred Kamaka
Hildred K. Palea Kamaka of Kekaha passed away on March 21, 2015 at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital at the age of 77. Born on December 12, 1937, in Waimea, Kauai, she was a homemaker and caregiver.
Preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Kamaka, father, William Palea, and mother, Henrietta Nordmeier Palea.
She is survived by her sons, Kaneala and Kimo Kamaka, both of Kekaha; daughters, Danelle (Kaimi) Kamaka of Kekaha, Anna Kamaka of Kekaha, and Denise (Wilbur) Parubrub of Kaumakani, hanai daughters, Keikilani Dela Cruz of Waimea, Noelani Dela Cruz of Hanapepe, and Alaina Duarte of Waimea. Aunty Hildred was a childcare provider for over 40 years. She has many hanai children. Also surviving is her sister, Rhoda (Howard) Vinhasa of Ewa Beach; nine grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on April 11, 2015 at Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Kekaha Ward). Viewing and services is from 9 am to 12 noon, with burial to follow at the Kekaha Hawaiian Cemetery. Casual attire.

Darryl Arruda
Darryl Henry Arruda of Hilo, Hawaii passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2015, at Kona Community Hospital at the age of 66. He was born in Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii on December 29, 1948. He was a retired Heavy Equipment Mechanic and a Vietnam Veteran in the United States Army.
Preceded in death by son, Darin Arruda; father, Henry Arruda and nephew, Kyle Arruda.
He is survived by his son, Dustin (Malia) Arruda of Hilo, Hawaii; daughters, Kristy Arruda of Kauai, Angela (Billy) Farias of Kauai; 8 grandchildren, Shelcee Camat of Kauai, Gordon “Koni” Camat of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jhaiston Lumacad of Kauai, Brayden Farias of Kauai, Breena Farias of Kauai, Brevin Farias of Kauai, Damian Arruda and Anthony Arruda of Hilo, Hawaii; 3 great-grandchildren, Kanoa Farias of Kauai, Javen Camat of Honolulu, Lilly Fabro of Kauai; mother, Alice Arruda of Kauai, Hawaii; brother, Kelly (Linda) Arruda of California; sister, Nadine (Darrell) Horner of Kauai, Hawaii; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Friday, April 17, 2015, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo, Visitation from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.; Celebration of Mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at East Hawaii Veterans #2 at 11:30 AM.
Family requests casual attire, flowers are welcome.
A Memorial service will also be held on Kauai on Friday, April 24, 2015, at Immaculate Conception Church in Kapaia, Kauai with visitation from 8:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. with Mass celebrated at 10:00 a.m.
Yukiko Kubota
Yukiko Akazawa Kubota of Kalaheo, Kauai, passed away on March 9th, 2015, at Straub Hospital at the age of 87. Yukiko was born on October 1st, 1927 in Makaweli, Kauai.
Yukiko was preceded in death by her husband, Nobuo Kubota and is survived by son; Keith (Sharon) Kubota of Aiea, daughter; Lorna (Steven) Freitas of Kalaheo. 7 grandchildren, Jocelyn (Hank) Barriga, Keven Freitas, Sheralyn (Sal) Hernandez, Serene Kubota, Jaclyn (Kihei) Fernandes, Reid Kubota, & Shealyn Freitas and 9 great-grandchildren. Sisters, Misao Mori of Santa Barbara and Itsuko (Harry) Murabayashi of Lawai and brother Eugene (Jessie) Akazawa of Manoa.

Juan Villasista
Juan (Hitla) Villasista of Kaumakani passed away on March 7, 2015 at KVMH at the age of 100. Juan was born on July 12, 1914 in Manaoag, Pangasinan, Philippines. He was a retired laborer at Olokele Sugar Plantation.
Juan was preceded in death by his wife Pertual B. Villasista and his parents, Adriano (Carmen) Villasista, Sr. and his daughter, Dominga (Elpidio) Cartas in the Philippines.
Juan is survived by his second wife, Inocenia Sagucio Villasista of Kaumakani, Kauai. Juan is also survived by his sons, Adriano (Erlinda) Villasista Jr., of Kapaa, Kauai and daughters, Romula (Felipe) Alumbria, Lourdes (Joaquin) Del Rosario in the Philippines as well as 22 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Julie Lappert
Julie K. Lappert, of Lawai, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on April 3, 2015 at the age of 62. Born on July 29, 1953 in Venezuela, Julie was a homemaker.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter & Eileen Lappert. Survived by her sons; Nicholas Lucas, Elliot Lucas and Julian Lucas, brothers; Michael Lappert, Patrick Lappert, and Brenden Lappert.
Celebration of her life will be held privately. Arrangements were handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary, Koloa, Kauai.
Tatsuo Okikawa
Tatsuo Okikawa of Hanapepe, Kauai passed away on March 20, 2015 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 90. Born on April 22, 1924 in Waimea, Kauai, he was a carpenter.
Preceded in death by his wife, Ririko Okikawa; he is survived by his sons, Wade (Patricia) Okikawa of Melbourne, Florida, Steven (Susan) Okikawa and Jerry (Adrienne) Okikawa, both of Honolulu, HI; daughters, Cheryle (Nelson) Oshiro of Hanapepe and Aileen (Randy) Yamamoto of Wailua; twelve grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services were held. Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Clara Oren
Clara Josephine Oren , known to family and friends as Josie, passed away peacefully at Crestview Manor Nursing Home, in Beavercreek, OH on April 1, 2015. Mrs. Oren was born in Dayton, OH, on April 7, 1939. She was a retired Social Services worker. She was a member of the LDS church and of Ar nDraiocht Fein, A.D.F. She was a longtime resident of the island of Kauai, Hawaii, before returning to Ohio. She will be remembered as a dedicated and caring soul, with a wicked sense of humor. Mrs. Oren was preceded in death by her husband, James Oren Jr. and her son, Joseph Szotak. She is survived by her daughter, Julie Delos Reyes; her grandchildren, Amber, Brittany and Zoe Szotak and Megan, Jeremiah and Tyrus Delos Reyes and her great-grandchildren, Jaden, Syrus, Sariya, Shiyla and Jacelyn Delos Reyes. Richard Fujii
Richard N. Fujii passed away on March 19, 2015 at Straub Clinic & Hospital in Honolulu at the age of 65. Richard was born on April 13, 1949 in Lihue, Kauai. He was a retired Controller for Koa Trading Co.
Richard is survived by sisters, Carol (Dennis) Seino of Lihue, Clare (Glenn) Morishige of Lihue; brother, Douglas (Susan) Fujii of Lihue as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
