HANALEI — Coach Mits Yokotake will be waking up early on April 12.
Yokotake and his sister, Kumu Hula Naomi Yokotake, will be launching the entertainment for the Kauai North Shore Lions Club’s annual “Hot Cakes and Hula” breakfast fundraiser at the Hanalei Elementary School cafeteria from 7 to 11 a.m., said Koko Kanealii, a Kauai North Shore Lion, during the halau’s appearance at the Kauai Museum honoring Prince Kuhio.
The great pancakes fashioned by chefs Gary Pacheco and Wayne Tanji are the main feature for the fundraiser. Proceeds fund North Shore youth scholarships.
Entertainment includes hula, as well as music and lucky number drawings through the morning.
A silent auction will also be held.
Tickets are $8 for adults, and $4 for children.
Tickets are available from Kauai North Shore Lions Club members. Lions will have tickets available April 8-11 at the Hanalei Big Save store in the Ching Young Shopping Village and at the Princeville Food Court. Tickets also will be available at the door.
