HANAPEPE — A crafts fair is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hanapepe Public Library.
The fair is being held in celebration and observance of the library’s 65th anniversary. People will be able to create their own craft items including paper Easter baskets, rubber band bracelets, Milfiori bead bracelets and luggage tags with the help of Friends of the Library members.
This event is free, with all materials being provided. There will be free cake and refreshments.
There will be craft items, including handmade cards, bookmarks, Post-Its, decorative tables, boxes and plants for sale.
The Hanapepe Public Library, which opened its doors on Feb. 9, 1950, serves the Westside community from its 3,600-square-foot building designed by Guy N. Rothwell and Edmund Adams.
The original building was expanded by 1,750 square feet, and a 2,210-square-foot meeting room designed by Yamasato, Fujiwara, Aoki & Associates was added in 2009.
The craft fair is being sponsored by the Friends of the Hanapepe Public Library and the Friends of the Library of Hawaii.
