In preparation for their new year, called “Naw-Ruz,” Bahais of Kauai are engaged in a 19-day fast, daily from sunrise to sunset.
The worldwide fast concludes at 6 p.m. Friday, March 20 with a new year celebration.
It will include food, music, a dramatic presentation and fellowship. The 100th anniversary of the introduction of their faith to Queen Lili’uokalani will also take place at the free event.
