Jana Rothenberg-Blay (her husband is geologist Chuck Blay) was in the right place looking for “Women Who Ride” for her documentary Sunday.
The Kauai All Girl Rodeo Association was filled with camera people as Mike Teruya was fine-tuning his Canon gear and Steve Read came out to enjoy the sun with his high-end Canons.
Kudos to Lauren Yama and David Haven (he’s from Kaanapali, Maui) on a great Hawaii State Junior Golf Association Junior Tour Series at Puakea (KIF tees off there Saturday). Pam Oki of Hilo said it was so cold they had to buy a jacket for Kailey, who was playing in the girls 11-12 division.
Pat Iwasaki was out hitting balls Sunday and got to check out the closing action along with Kauai High School golfers Jamie Amimoto and Devin Kimoto (he’ll be back at junior golf after the KIF season).
Congratulations to all the Kauai junior golfers — especially Ryan Chang Jr. and Kanoa Nii on medaling.
