POIPU — Kirk Huffman has been named Poipu Bay Golf Course’s Employee of the Year for 2014. Huffman has worked at the award-winning course since 2008 and holds the position of Pro Shop clerk.
He was nominated for the award by supervisor Marsha Hermosura, who said, “Kirk’s aloha spirit comes straight from the heart.”
Huffman was one of Poipu Bay’s two semi-annual Aloha Spirit Award winners for 2014, along with fellow employee Curt Fune, head mechanic at the course. Semi-annual winners receive a variety of gifts and are eligible for the annual Employee of the Year Award.
Poipu Bay’s semi-annual employee awards are based on nominations made by department supervisors in the areas of attendance, conscientiousness, attitude, efficiency, innovation, guest service and aloha spirit.
